For immediate release:
11 November, 2016 – ROAD Fighting Championship opens the entire preliminary fight card of Young Guns 31.
As previously announced, heading Young Guns 31 will be the cumulation of a long-standing feud between “Crying Fist” alums Park Hyung-Geun and Kim Hyung-Su.
The sixth fight will be a lightweight Kim Kyung-Pyo (5-0, MMA Story) versus Park Dae-Sung (3-1, Team MOB). Kim holds 3 KOs and 1 submission in an undefeated record since his pro debut last year. Park has been away from the cage since 2014 but is now determined to assault the lightweight rankings. Both fighters are prospects to watch
The fifth fight is a featherweight match between Kim Se-Yeong (3-2, Team Gangnam) and Lee Chang-Ju (1-0, Ssabi MMA). Kim has been a sparring partner of ROAD Champs Kwon A-Sol and Lee Yun-Jun so he is very well-rounded. Lee was the ROAD FC Central League Rookie of the Year before his successful pro debut, as well as a champion kickboxer. They may not have main card names, but Kim and Lee will surprise with a very high-level performance.
The fourth match is at featherweight between Lee Jeong-Young (2-0, Ssen Gym) and Kim Ho-Jun (1-6, Team Posse). Lee is undefeated in MMA since his days as an amateur, with all but 1 of his wins coming by submission. Kim is an aggressive striker who looks to engage right from the bell. This is definitely a style versus style match.
The third fight will be between flyweights Kang Yeun-Su (1-0, Team Finish) and Wang Deyu, (2-1, Guangdong Glory Fight Club). Kang is an 18-year old with an undefeated record in the ROAD FC amateur Into League. 19-year old Wang impressed with a submission win in his ROAD FC debut this year. These young fighters represent the next generation of Korean and Chinese MMA, so watch this fight closely.
The second match is at lightweight between Hisanari Tamaki (4-4-1, Osaka Soft Contact/Wardog) and Kim Kyu-Hyung (1-0, Anji's MMA). Hisanari is a school teacher who took up pro MMA after a long background in wrestling and kickboxing. Kim also kickboxed before transitioning to MMA, were he won an amatuer bout and his pro appearance in M-1 Korea. A striking battle is definitely predicted.
The opening match of Young Guns 31 is a flyweight bout between Kim Woo-Jae (3-4, Team Poma) and Ko Dong-Hyeok (0-1, Team Strongwolf). Kim started judo in high school, then kickboxing, and has a good deal of experience in MMA in Korea, Japan, and China. Ko is a 19-year old looking to get a foothold in MMA after being ranked WAKO #1 in 2014 and competing on the National Sanda Team in the World Youth Championships. Spectacular techniques will make for a great fight to open the night.
