BELGIAN FAVOURITE TOMMY DEPRET FACES EX-UFC WELTERWEIGHT JOHN MAGUIRE AT CW89

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, Nov 8th, 2017

Home-country veteran Tommy Depret comes up against England's John Maguire in the biggest MMA event in Belgian history.

It’s going to be a historic night for European MMA at Cage Warriors 89. On November 25th, the Lotto Arena in Antwerp will play host to an incredible card of fights featuring local heroes and international challengers in what’s sure to be a night to remember for Belgian sports fans.

The latest addition to the Cage Warriors 89 card is one that's sure to get Belgian fight fans excited. Tommy Depret, a fan favourite who's 12 wins include 11 dominant finishes over some of the best on the scene, faces John Maguire who travels from England with plans to get the upset victory on foreign soil in Antwerp. Maguire, who fought in the UFC between 2011-2013, has 24 professional wins under his belt with 14 of those coming via submission, but will have to fight smart against Depret who has very real potential to end the fight early.

Our second new announcement comes as Aiden Lee faces Donovan Desmae in a bout between two exciting lightweights. Lee (5-1) has finished his last three opponents via submission and looks to close 2017 with another victory on perhaps his biggest Cage Warriors event to date. Desmae (9-4), who fights out of Red Kings MMA, will have the home country crowd behind him and is setting his sights on handing Lee his first loss of the year.

Another hometown favourite, Cindy Dandois (6-3), a former UFC and Invicta bantamweight, has her chance to shine on the biggest MMA event in Belgian history. She’ll face a very dangerous striker in Kerry Hughes (3-2), who travels from England to challenge Dandois and prove that she belongs on the world stage. Cindy’s brother, Ben Dandois, also fights on the card in an exciting battle with Holland’s Chico Martinez.

Also on the bill is Welsh super-prospect Jack Shore, who faces another undefeated prospect in Ayton de Paepe. Fresh from his third-round knockout of Mattia Galbiati at Cage Warriors 87 in Newport, Shore is looking to prove his worth in his first fight on overseas territory.

The fight card for Belgium also includes a clash between unbeaten welterweight prospects Massai Sant'anna (2-0) and Artur Szczepaniak (3-0), plus another 170lb matchup as Leon Jansen (1-0) takes on Jan Quaeyhaegens (4-3).
