Eternal MMA VIII – Saturday November 29th – Hellenic Centre Bundall Gold coast Australia
Eternal MMA’s final show for 2014 was held in The Hellenic Centre in Bundall Australia. A card with 11 fights was headlined by a flyweight clash between the experienced PUMMA Burleigh’s Tim Moore and the former two time Australian Commonwealth games wrestler and unbeaten MMA prospect Shane Parker fighting out of Australian Top Team.
The night started with a WMMA bought between Integrated MMA/Fairtex Sunshine Coast fighter Alex Dale and Dearne Fulcher from Thrive MMA in Lithgow. Alex Dale quickly took Dearne to the canvas where she locked in a rear naked choke 1:23 into the first round. Stand out fights from the undercard were Cody Watego from Transform MA against Lewis Hallam from InfinityNorthLakes and Corey Cottle from Transform MA against Aaron Fisher from PUMMA. Both these fights were contenders for fight of the night with all 4 of these fighters leaving it all in the cage and the crowd were on there feet and the atmosphere electric throughout.
The main event was as expected a 3 round battle that went to the judges. Flyweights, Tim Moore (PUMMA) and Shane Parker (Australian Top Team) never disappointed as they went at it back and forth for the 3 rounds. Surprisingly Tim Moore dictated the first 2 rounds by putting the former Commonwealth Games Wrestler Parker on his back. In the first 2 rounds Moore survived a couple of deep guillotines and also out wrestled the wrestler. Shane Parker took the 3rd round by spending most of the 5 minutes in Moores guard dropping elbows. Moore survived the 3rd round with a nasty cut above his eye and stood to receive the unanimous decision from the judges.
This was Eternal’s 5th show of 2014 and they rounded the year off in style with what is certainly one of their very best shows to date. The usual good sized vocal crowd and competitive well matched fights added to the impressive new Gold Coast Venue leave us very excited for Eternal’s 2015. With shows already announced for The Gold Coast and Perth and rumours of another location still to be announced it seems Eternal are determined to live up to the tag of Australia’s Best Pro-Am MMA Organisation.
