Van Roosmalen’s opponent failed to meet the scales, Stoši? heavier than ever

Everything is almost ready for the upcoming FFC 22 event that is about to take place Friday in Athens. The weigh-ins that took place today went in a peaceful mode except for the fact that a couple of fighters did not make it due to airplane delays, but their weight will be recorded later tonight.

Only one fighter failed to meet the scales – Athinodoros Michailidis who is to fight in the main MMA event against Robin van Roosmalen. He missed the scales for 700 grams and failed to cut it given one more extra hour. Therefore, Van Roosmalen will get 20% off his purse.

Stoši? heavier than ever

In the kickboxing part of the FFC 22 event Pavel Zhuravlev and Brian Douwes will fight for the light heavyweight title and top spot in the division that was recently vacated by Igor Jurkovi?. In the co-main event FFC champ Samo Petje defends his title for the third time against dangerous Greek fighter Meletis Kakoubavas who might as well be his toughest opponent so far.

The face offs between Serbia's Darko Stoši? and Emil Zahariev form Bulgaria were also quite interesting. Both fighters will enter this match heavier than ever. Stoši? weighed 106,8 kg, while his opponent reached 112 kg.

As previously mentioned, the rest of the fighters did not manage to show up  on time due to the air traffic delays and they will be weighed later today.

The FFC 22 press conference with Robin van Roosmalen, Pavel Zhuravlev and Samo Petje took place right after the weigh-ins.
