Oklahoma Mixed Martial Arts Promotion to Benefit

Youngest Survivors of OKC Bombing

WHAT:                      Nineteen years after the Oklahoma City bombing one family say the financial loss still haunts them.  Brandon and Rebecca Denny are two out of only six child survivors from the American Kids Daycare on the second floor of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.   After the bombing, Brandon spent several months in intensive care and a rehabilitation center before going home. He has a permanent shunt in the back of his head and now also suffers from seizures.  Rebecca required three surgeries before being released from the hospital after 10 days.

Brandon’s rehabilitation schedule forced Jim Denny to quit his job as a shop foreman.  “He had rehab three times a week and we needed to be there for our children to give them every opportunity for a fair shake at life,” said Denny.    “Thankfully McVeigh didn’t take our children’s lives, but he murdered our family financially; a double-dose of terrorism.  When I figured it up, we lost about $500,000 in salary between Claudia and I being off work to take care of Brandon and Becca. We had to sell our home in 2002; we moved to an apartment for a while and now rent a small home.”

On the 19th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing Rage in the Cage OKC, a local mixed martial arts promotion, will have a fundraising event where 100% of all proceeds will be given to the Denny family.

Over two dozen mixed martial artists from Oklahoma and surrounding states will donate their talents to raise funds to help the Denny family get out of debt.
