Oklahoma Mixed Martial Arts Promotion Steps in

to Help Family of Killed OKC Firefighter

WHAT:            Corporal Josh Kidd, 31, was tragically killed February 9 in a traffic collision as he was heading home from his shift at Fire Station 30.

Fellow firefighters were planning a Mixed Martial Arts event to benefit Kidd’s family for Friday, March 15, which had to be cancelled last minute.

Local MMA promotion Rage in the Cage OKC (R.I.T.C) received the news Tuesday, March 11 and immediately stepped in to assist.

All tickets purchased and not already refunded for the March 15th benefit will be honored at Rage in the Cage’s March 22 event.  The money raised for those tickets is already in the hands of firefighters and will be donated to Kidd’s fiancé Jessica and 16 month-old son Miles. R.I.T.C. is also making room on the March 22 card to accommodate as many of the fighters as possible that were scheduled to fight in the Josh Kidd benefit event.

A fund to assist Jessica and Miles Kidd is set up at the Municipal Employees Credit Union (MECU) or donations can be brought to the R.I.T.C. March 22 event.
