Featherweight title on the line as Prime Fighting returns to the Clark County Event Center!
Prime Fighting recently announced the main event for Prime Fighting 8, a matchup between defending Prime champion, Austin Springer, and former UFC fighter Julian Erosa.
Both of these fighters have been on the cusp of success and are looking for a shot back at a national spotlight, and gladly look forward to that opportunity falling in their own backyard.
Springer, of Vancouver, WA enters the bout with an 8-1 record. He competed on the first episode of Season 22 of The Ultimate Fighter, but was eliminated in the first round of fights by decision. Following TUF 22, Springer suffered his first professional loss last year, but quickly rebounded by starting out 2016 with a gutsy 5th round finish for the Prime Fighting featherweight title in January.
Erosa, of Yakima, WA will enter with a 16-3 record. He also competed on Season 22 of TUF, but was eliminated in the semifinals of the show. Erosa won a split decision at the TUF 22 Finale, but after a TKO loss at UFC 196 in March, he was released from the promotion. It did not take long for him to rebound with a win as the co-main at a King of the Cage event in May.
Both of these talented fighters have been to the top of the heap, and are looking for a big win and a title around their waist on October 8th.
Prime Fighting plans on having their biggest card to date for their 8th installment of bringing in the elite mixed martial artists from around the pacific northwest and beyond. A full card of professional and amateur bouts will be released as the event gets closer. As well, there are more exciting opportunities and events for fans by following Prime Fighting on Facebook or visiting PrimeFighting.net to buy tickets now.
