Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029 will feature Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom defending against world-renowned Marlon Sandro

13 January, 2016 -  ROAD Fighting Championship is excited to announce that Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom will make his second title defense against former Pancrase and Sengoku Champ Marlon Sandro at Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029 on 5 March, 2016 in Seoul, South Korea.

Choi Mu-Gyeom (MMA Story) is the prodigy of Korean MMA pioneer Cha Jung-Hwan, who will be challenging Champ Riki Fukuda at Middleweight at the upcoming ROAD FC 028.  Choi was the dark horse in the 2013 Featherweight Tournament, but he ended up taking down the heavy favorite Kwon Bae-Yong to win the title.  In 2015 Choi had two decisive battles.  In his first title defense, he outscored the dangerous Seo Doo-Won to keep the Featherweight strap, then he engaged ROAD FC Bantamweight Champ Lee Yun-Jun in a thrilling Superfight that went the full distance.  At this point, Featherweight Champion Choi has gone from dark horse to front runner on the Korean MMA scene.

The world-reknowned Marlon Sandro (Nova Uniao) has recently signed with ROAD FC and made his debut a thrilling one against top bantamweight Kim Soo-Chul in a war that went to a Draw.  That performance coupled with his credentials moved him quickly into the Featherweight contenders pool.  The former Pancrase and Sengoku Champ, who spent his most recent years fighting the best in Bellator, is now positioned to show off his high level grappling and striking in ROAD FC.  Sandro will dive head first into the Featherweight division with his title challenge.

There is no doubt that Sandro will be the biggest threat that Champion Choi has yet faced.  However, Choi relishes the underdog status and has proven time and time again that he has the Featherweight strap for a reason.  On 5 March at Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029, Champion Choi versus Sandro is sure to bring fans the action they expect from ROAD FC!
