ROAD FC partners with corporate giants Tencent, Qihoo360, Baidu, Xiaomi, and Kakao for innovative MMA joint venture

18 November, 2015 - ROAD Fighting Championship announces a partnership with China's and Korea's corporate giants Tencent, Qihoo360, Baidu, Xiaomi, and Kakao to write a new history of Mixed Martial Arts: "New Wave MMA: ROAD FC"

ROAD FC is proud to announce that the corporate giants of China - Tencent, Qihoo360, Baidu, and Xiaomi - along with Korea's Kakao have formed a strategic partnership. ROAD FC and these five major companies, together with 20 of China's online game publishers, have created an innovative "fighting games federation" joint venture, called "MMA ACT".

During the first half of 2016, the launch of MMA ACT will focus on the development of online gaming and release in the China market, in order to blitz the mobile and online games business. Concurrently, the partnership will enable ROAD FC to aggressively pursue its globalization strategy.

New Wave MMA, ROAD FC”

ROAD FC was established in 2010 to promote the sport of MMA which embodies the Asian spirit of martial arts. Over 300 athletes from South Korea, Brazil, North America, Europe, Japan, China, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East have signed agreements with ROAD FC. Events are being broadcast in more than 50 countries around the world, on dozens of television stations and internet platforms. ROAD FC initiated its global strategy in 2015. ROAD FC 024 in Tokyo, Japan which was held in July earlier this year, and the upcoming ROAD FC 027 in Shanghai, China are significant achievements in South Korean sports history.

ROAD FC recognizes Asia as the global center of martial arts. In Asia, many combat sports have been born and become world-famous, such as Korea's Olympic sport Taekwondo and China's mamoth national Sanda competition. In the past, Asia was also the global center of MMA, where notable promotions such as PRIDE and K-1 once drew Asian crowds of 50 to 90 thousand spectators live, and broadcast live around the world. As these organizations subsided, ROAD FC was launched to to take up the mantle in Korea. Now ROAD FC will begin to reposition Asia as the center of the world's MMA once again.

ROAD FC's new partners Tencent, Qihoo360, Baidu, Xiaomi, and Kakao boast a significant market stronghold. Tencent is worth over $200 billion US dollars, Baidu over $70 billion, Qihoo360 over $11 billion and Kakao about $700 million. While Xiaomi is not a publicly traded company, its value is considered to be about $50 billion. Large companies with such capital strength are able to explore new ideas, which is exactly what this partnership brings. These giants can cause a sensation in the MMA industry. ROAD FC in partnership with Tencent, Qihoo360, Baidu, Xiaomi and Kakao is planning to innovate the sport of MMA, write a new history for the sport, and thrust it into the future.

Therefore, ROAD FC 027 in CHINA on 26 December in Shanghai will be kicked off with a new slogan: "New Wave MMA, ROAD FC".
