ROAD FC signs George Roop to exclusive contract, May debut expected

22 March, 2016 - ROAD Fighting Championship is excited to announce the signing of George Roop to an exclusive, multi-fight contract.  Roop's promotional debut will be at Xiaomi ROAD FC 031 on 14 May, 2016 in Seoul, South Korea at the Jangchung Gymnasium.

George Roop (15-12-1) started martial arts very early in life, with Taekwondo, judo, and then wrestling.  Roop then naturally transitioned into MMA, and has had an exciting MMA career on the international stage ever since.  Beginning with his appearance on the 8th season of UFC's The Ultimate Fighter, he earned his first stint in the promotion.  After going 1-2, Roop was let go, and found his home in WEC, where his lone Draw with Leonard Garcia earned Fight of the Night,  In the WEC, Roop became the first man to ever stop Jung Chan-Sung, "The Korean Zombie", with a Knockout of the Night head kick.

Roop was able to have a second life in the UFC when WEC merged.  He spent five years in the feather- and bantamweight divisions, earning wins over such fighters as Josh Grispi and Brian Bowles, and meeting other Asian superstars like Hatsu Hioki and Takeya Mizugaki.

George Roop is expected to have his first fight in Seoul, South Korea at ROAD FC 031 on 14 May.  ROAD FC is excited to have such a thrilling, never back down, well-known fighter in Roop, and his opponent will be announced shortly.
