Six Round One Finishers Come Back to the Slammer on Dec 10th
They are crowd pleasers - round one finishers make the FIGHTING WORLD go round. Is there anything better than seeing a remarkable submission or KO victory in round one? Below are six round one finishers coming back to the SLAMMER for Rumble @ The Roseland 89 on Saturday, December 10th. Tickets at Bridge City Fight Shop and online at cascade tickets.
Nick Martin - 155 Pound Title Contender at Rumble 89
The FCFF's Lightweight contender Nick Martin of Gracie Barra tops the list of impressive round one finishers on the fight card for Rumble @ The Roseland 89. In his last fight at Rumble @ The Roseland 87, he ended the battle in a convincing round one submission victory. It only took Martin about 90 seconds to inflict maximum damage (including a good amount of blood left in the slammer) to Erik Kirkpatrick and secure the win.
Ericson Abalos - 135 Pound Title Contender at Rumble 89
Okay - so we have a tie for "most impressive" round one finisher between Nick Martin AND Eric Abalos. All three of Abalos' last fights were earned via round one submissions. FCFF fight fans last saw Abalos at Rumble 86 with a 1:26 win over Jessy Sperry. Then, again at Rumble 88, where he submitted Sean Kalinoski in one minute and two seconds via rear naked choke (pictured) for the FCFF's Bantamweight Superfight title.
Michael Collazo - 185 Pound Title Contender at Rumble 89
While Michael Collazo's most recent fight was earned in the final seconds of the final round (which is epic in it's own right), who can forget Rumble @ The Roseland 81? Collazo had a 13 second, round one win over Brandon Lunny due to a TKO from strikes. Booyah!
Sam Crawford - Undercard Fighter at Rumble 89
On the undercard, within the 135-pound Bantamweight division Samuel Crawford is also a round finisher. In his last fight at Rumble @ the Roseland 88 he immediately set in an armbar to submit Emmett Earlywine in less than one minute.
Jordan Van Barriger Vs. Phelan Carron - Undercard Fight at Rumble 89
Jordan Van Barriger is making a comeback at Rumble @ The Roseland 89 on Saturday, December 10th. In 2013 he had back-to-back wins including a 15 second KO victory over Sean Reay at Rumble @ The Roseland 71 (pictured). He's facing Phelan Carron who is also a round one finisher. Carron last fought at Rumble @ The Roseland 88 and had a round one TKO victory over Jon Brown.
