In a card full of finishes and amazing fights, there had to be something different to justify winning the awards for Knockout and Submission of the Nights for Brave 8: The Rise of Champions. And that's exactly what Luan "Miau" Santiago and Eduardo "Camelo" did, going for broke and getting an extra check for their KO and sub over Igor Soares and Rogério Santos, respectively.

Having to face an opponent with a different style than the one he was training for, "Miau" struggled early on against Soares. The Brazilian Fighter of The Year for 2016 was scheduled to fight Eric Parrudo, but he pulled out three days before Brave 8. Parrudo was replaced by Igor Soares, who showed he belonged inside the Brave cage when he knocked down Santiago twice inside the first three minutes.

However, the CM System Lightweight showed resilience to hang on and went for the kill with a perfectly timed uppercut that dropped Soared. "Miau" got his second Brave knockout in two bouts for the promotion, winning KO of The Night in the process and called out Ottman Azaitar.

LuanxIgor"Hopefully, this bonus and this win lead me to further my career in Brave. I want to fight internationally, and I want Ottman Azaitar. I can only hope he stops running around and face me already", provoked Luan.
"Camelo", on the other hand, has been preparing for Rogério Santos for quite some time, and showed on fight night that Evolução Thai is much more than striking. He was able to do well in the wrestling department but wasn't fazed when he found himself with his back on the floor and went in for a perfect armbar, leaving Santos with no choice but to tap out of the contest.

"This is a dream for me. Fighting in a big, international promotion and having so many people watch me do work. I'm a black belt in jiu-jitsu and I represent jiu-jitsu so to have a bonus for that is amazing. I've done a three-month camp for this fight and I was well prepared. I'm still in disbelief about my performance and I'm so happy I got to represent my coaches Serginho Moraes and André Dida so well", says "Camelo".
