FMD5: Made in Thailand

When? Saturday, May 9th, 2015. Doors open 5pm. Show starts 6pm until 11:30pm.

Where? Live House Studio, Jatujak Green, Kamphaeng Phet 3, Bangkok. Near Mo Chit BTS and Chatuchak Park MRT stations.

FMD5: Made in Thailand will be FMD’s first Thai-only MMA Tournament, promoting grass roots MMA development in Thailand. The event will play host to 3x 4-man MMA Tournaments for Thai fighters in 3 weight divisions: Bantamweight, Featherweight and Lightweight. Each tournament will consist of two semi-finals bouts, the winners of which will face each other in the finals later that same evening. And for the 3 winners of each tournament, each fighting to victory twice in one night, awaits a cash prize of 20,000 baht to be awarded on the night.

The fighters will be representing the country’s best combat sports gyms, gathering from every region in the land – North, Issan, Central and South – to see who are the greatest warriors in the Kingdom. FMD also wants to promote tourism across Thailand through combat sports training and events, provide a platform for the best up-and-coming fighters to rise to the top and one day represent the Kingdom of Thailand on the world stage. FMD believes that with Thailand’s Muay Thai heritage, Thai fighters can one day become the best MMA fighters in the world in their weight divisions.

There will also be 2 MMA Super Fights on the card. The first will see FMD founder and host, Jon Nutt, step into the cage himself, to take on, not an enemy, but his friend and colleague, FMD and Malaysian Invasion MMA referee and Thammasat University professor,  Dana Blouin. The two American expats will slug it out in a heavyweight fight, in what many are calling ‘The Battle of the Beards’. Heavyweight Fight: Jon Nutt Vs Dana Blouin is happening. The full fight card will be announced soon.

FMD is the only MMA Promotion that lets fans get right up against the cage and enjoy FMD’s unique MMA party atmosphere. FMD is hosted by Jon Nutt, Thailand’s leading MMA Promoter, and bi-lingual Thai TV fitness celebrity Mark Abbott,  alongside the lovely FMD Ring Girls, led by TV host Nithima “Natt” Attasophonwatthana. FMD events also feature: live rock music and DJ’s, cheap drink deals, food and retail booths, charity auction, FMD Pretties, VIP guests and a whole lot more.
