Washington MMA’s “Northwest Fight Challenge” headlines with an anticipated rematch: Eric Godfrey vs Mike Holt 2

NW Fight Challenge is known as one of the most prominent amateur MMA organizations fighters try to conquer before turning pro. From past events, they’ve put on matches that pro fighters even look to for their next opponents in the Northwest scene. Many previous fighters that have competed on their shows have gone on to do big things in the sport. This next NWFC card have some highly regarded contenders looking to do the same on this upcoming event. NWFC’s last event lived up to their reputation by putting on a card that left MMA fans eagerly wanting more, specifically their main event title fight that put a lot of hype behind this up and coming rematch.

NW Fight Challenge made a splash Nov. 18th last year with a fan favorite fight featuring Eric Godfrey and Mike Holt battling out a 3 round brawl. After much anticipation and fan fueled talk, NW Fight Challenge has gotten both amateur MMA prospects to run it back once more for a highly touted rematch April 28th at Clover Park Technical College!

A fight scheduled for 5 rounds and a welterweight title on the line, both fighters put it all on the line to the bitter end with Mike Holt winning by TKO due to the referee seeing enough of Holt winning on the feet and Godfrey being visibly gassed on the feet. After the fight, it was revealed that Godfrey had suffered a broken nose and a shatter orbital bone to the point where he was seeing double vision.

But with every rematch comes a new result. I got a chance to talk with both fighters about what’s changing this next fight and how the rematch will be different. Along with that, of course we got a little background on their sort of style and what to expect. Check it out below!
