Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 028 Co-Main Event to be top contender Moon Jea-Hoon vs Shooto Champ Nezu Yuta

8 January, 2016 -  ROAD Fighting Championship's next event, Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 028 will be held on 31 January at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea. In the Co-Main Event for the first show of 2016: top contender and ROAD FC stalwart Moon Jea-Hoon will take on Shooto Pacific Rim Champion Nezu Yuta.

Moon Jea-Hoon has been one of the most active and respected fighters in ROAD FC.  His back and forth wars have seen him give up the Bantamweight Tournament Finals to former Champ Lee Kil-Woo, then earn a fantastic come from behind KO over Marcos Vinicius.  Moon ascended to his first title challenge at ROAD FC 023 in the summer of 2015 against current title holder Lee Yun-Jun.  Moon threw his Taekwondo kicks in force, and while he didn't end up with the strap transferred to his waist, he made the Champ's first defense a brutal one.

Nezu Yuta is the Shooto Pacific Rim Champion at Featherweight and on a nine-fight win streak.  That includes his first appearance with ROAD FC where he head kick KOed Park Hyun-Geun in just 21 seconds, plus notable wins over Wicky Nishiura and Motonobu Tezuka.  Nezu's Muay Thai is a force to be reckoned with.  Having come up through the ranks of the respectable Shooto since 2007, Nezu has a depth of experience that presents a threat to the entire ROAD FC Bantamweight division.

Moon Jea-Hoon versus Nezu Yuta was an inevitable match up to make.  These two amazing strikers are set to ignite the race to be the top contender for the ROAD FC Bantamweight Title challenge!

Riki Fukuda defends his Middleweight Title against Cha Jung Hwan

As previously announced, the Main Event for Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 028 will be Middleweight Champion Riki Fukuda (23-7-0-1)  making his first title defense against Korea's number one-ranked welterweight, Cha Jung-Hwan (11-6-3).

Riki Fukuda cut a clear path to the ROAD FC Middleweight Championship in 2014 and 2015.  The consummate UFC veteran dispatched all comers to end up on a 4-fight win streak of finishes.  Earning the championship belt meant earning a 6-figure paycheck as well, and fans can bet that Riki isn't willing to relinquish either anytime soon.  His grinding aggression will surely be turned up a notch as he meets an unlikely - and tricky - first challenger in Cha Jung-Hwan.

Cha Jung-Hwan is one of Korea's most notable fighters, with knockouts over such stellar opponents as Ryo Chonan and Igor Gracie.    His most recent win was a decision over the highly-respected Alexandre Barros, which set right back-to-back Draws with Andrews Nakahara and Luis Ramos.  Cha, who is the coach of ROAD FC Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom, is a well-rounded, brutal and yet tactical fighter who brings an interesting twist to Fukuda's tank gun attack.

ROAD FC is the stage where legends shine, rookies thrill, and epic battles are waged that determine the future of MMA. From the pageantry of the grand entrance to the final crunch of the KO, ROAD FC showcases the very best of Mixed Martial Arts sports and entertainment. As we say in Korea, "Fighting!"
