Xiaomi ROAD FC 029 update: Carlos Toyota returns against "Monster Wrestler" Sim Gun-Oh
Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029 will include a Heavyweight match Sim Gun-Oh vs Carlos Toyota
5 February, 2016 - Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029 will take place on 19 March, 2016 in Wonju, South Korea. As previously announced in the Main Event, Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom will make his second title defense against former Pancrase and Sengoku Champ Marlon Sandro. The Co-Main event will be a match between well-known Bantamweights from two sides of the globe: "One Minute" Kim Soo-Chul vs "The Bama Beast" Marcus Brimage.
Heavyweight Match added: Sim Gun-Oh vs Carlos Toyota
"Monster Wrestler" Sim Gun-Oh (1-1, Team Finish) will have another chance to make an early mark in the Heavyweight division as he faces Japan's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu slugger Carlos Toyota. Sim, a Kyungsung University wrestler, showed natural striking ability during the reality MMA series "Crying Fist", so ROAD FC CEO Jung Moon-Hong believed he possessed the makings of a champion and signed him. Sim arm locked his first MMA opponent for a blistering comeback win, but in his second he was caught with the same by more experienced grappler Lucas Tani. There's still a massive spark in him, and the Heavyweight division poses no easy route, so Sim's next opponent will be yet another black belt with KO power.
Carlos Toyota will make his second appearance in the ROAD FC cage against the young Sim. His first was a highlight-reel KO of Choi Hong-Man in front of his hometown crowd at ROAD FC 024 in Japan. Toyota is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt whose more often than not shown off the powerful bombs in his fists before engaging in groundwork. Along with the Techno Goliath, he's also flattened Daiju Takase and Daijiro Matsui during his long run in Japan.
Sim Gun-Oh versus Carlos Toyota will be youth versus experience between these two grappling-based fighters who also know how to take off heads!
Also on Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029, rising Bantamweights Kim Min-Woo and Park Hyung-Geun will face off, 16-year old thriller Lee Yeji will look to cement her name as a hot prospect, Korean standout "Parky" Park Won-Sik makes his comeback in the Lightweight division, and Boxing Champion Cha In-Ho will once again bring his fast feet and firsts into the ROAD FC cage.
New Wave MMA ROAD FC is the stage where legends shine, rookies thrill, and epic battles are waged that determine the future of MMA. From the pageantry of the grand entrance to the final crunch of the KO, ROAD FC showcases the very best of Mixed Martial Arts sports and entertainment. As we say in Korea, "Fighting!"
