Xiaomi ROAD FC 029 update: Parky vs Shinji Sasaki is finally a Go!

ROAD29 Park vs Sasaki

Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029 will see "Parky" Park Won-Sik return in the Lightweight division against Shinji Sasaki

11 February, 2016 -  Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029 will take place on 19 March, 2016 in Wonju, South Korea.  As previously announced in the Main Event, Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom will make his second title defense against former Pancrase and Sengoku Champ Marlon Sandro.  The Co-Main event will be a match between well-known Bantamweights from two sides of the globe: "One Minute" Kim Soo-Chul vs "The Bama Beast" Marcus Brimage.

Park Won-Sik vs Shinji Sasaki is finally a Go!

At ROAD FC 026, Korean MMA standout "Parky" Park Wong-Sik was to celebrate a return from early retirement against stellar Japanese rival Sasaki Shinji, but unfortunately injury sidelined the match.

Busan Team MAD's "Parky" (11-5-1-1) has been heralded as one of the most notable Korean fighters over the last decade.   He competed in DEEP, DREAM and Sengoku before a neck injury forced him into an early retirement. Following a two year hiatus for surgery and rehabilitation, this year "Parky" has made a complete recovery.  At ROAD FC 029, he will jump right back into the thick of the action against Japanese grappling madman Sasaki Shinji.
Burst's Sasaki "Torao Supernova" Shinji (14-8-3) has been a stalwart of SHOOTO for a decade, including being its former Pacific Rim Champion.  He is one of the top lightweight MMA grapplers in Japan who also holds a pair of heavy gloves: he has KOs over Takumi Nakayama and Shin Kochiwa.  Sasaki entered ROAD FC at the beginning of 2015 in an entertaining three round battle against Kim "Armbar" Chang-Hyun.  After Sasaki won the unanimous decision against Kim, it became clear that Sasaki wanted to take on Parky - Kim's teammate - after his new return.
So, at ROAD FC 029, Park Won-Sik and Sasaki Shinji will finally meet in an epic showdown of two Asian MMA veterans at the top of the lightweight division!

Also on Xiaomi presents ROAD FC 029, monsters Shim Gun-Oh and Carlos Toyota will make a loud crash, rising Bantamweights Kim Min-Woo and Park Hyung-Geun will face off, 16-year old thriller Lee Yeji will look to cement her name as a hot prospect, and Boxing Champion Cha In-Ho will once again bring his fast feet and firsts into the ROAD FC cage.

New Wave MMA ROAD FC is the stage where legends shine, rookies thrill, and epic battles are waged that determine the future of MMA. From the pageantry of the grand entrance to the final crunch of the KO, ROAD FC showcases the very best of Mixed Martial Arts sports and entertainment. As we say in Korea, "Fighting!"
