Xiaomi ROAD FC 032 adds a Middleweight contenders battle: Former ROAD FC Champion Riki Fukuda versus Kim Hoon

30 May, 2016 - Xiaomi ROAD FC 032 will take place this coming 2 July, 2016 at the 20,000-capacity Hunan International Conference and Convention Center in Changsha, Hunan, China. The former ROAD FC Middleweight Champion Riki Fukuda will return against Kim Hoon.

Riki Fukuda (23-8-1, Grabaka) was the former DEEP Middleweight Champion and then a mainstay UFC veteran before joining ROAD FC. In two years with ROAD FC, he displayed his awesome striking and wrestling power and went undefeated to claim the Middleweight strap for himself. However, on his first title defense against consummate veteran Cha Jung-Hwan, he was KOed in a hugely surprising turn around – Riki hadn't been KOed in ten years.

Now Riki will seek redemption when he takes on heavy striker and grappler Kim Hoon (9-11-2, Team Fighter). Kim Hoon is from the original MMA generation of Korea, with fights harkening back to 2004 in Gimme Five, MARS and Spirit MC. Then in Pancrase and Legend FC he faced the stiffest of international competition including Daiju Takase, Robert Whittaker, and Keita Nakamura. When he joined ROAD FC, Kim was unceremoniously KOed by Minowaman in his 100th fight, but he claimed retribution with an amazing 3 round war against UFC vet Luis Ramos.

Riki and Kim present completely opposite styles of striking and grappling, so this match should produce thrilling and unpredictable mayhem. The ROAD FC Middleweight division has gotten thick, with Kim's rise to it and recent DEEP Champion Choi Young expressing his desire to catapult his win over Yoon Dong-Sik into a title shot. Riki Fukuda will seek to reclaim his place at the top of the rankings, and Kim Hoon will try to launch his own bid over another stellar opponent.
