AMTL Sept. 17, 2016 COMPLETE RESULTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S.A.-September 17, 2016-The American Muay Thai League main event went all 5 rounds in a back-and-forth exchange between Former United States Muay Thai Association North American champion Eric Rocha (Toronto, Canada) and Rolando Valdez (Bethesda, MD) at 147 lbs. Fans gave both fighters a lot of energy with Rocha and Valdez getting in some pretty cleans blows on each other throughout the match. In the end, it was Rolando Valdez who came away with the victory via Unanimous decision with scores totaling 146-144.

In the co-featured bout former WKA North American Kickboxing Champion and Unified World Silver Medalist, Jared Tipton (Bowie, MD) clashed with Jonathan George (Lorton, VA) at 133 lbs. Both Tipton and George met each other in the middle of the ring, exchanging some fast and hard combinations. George gets tagged on his face from a well placed knee from Tipton resulting in a knock down. George looks out of it for a few seconds, but somehow recovers quickly standing to his feet and ready to get back into the action. Tipton and George engage in a firefight, with George getting the cleaner punches getting Tipton onto the canvas. Tipton gets up still looking a bit dazed from the first knockdown. George immediately gets to Tipton with another cross combination eventually putting Tipton down for good in the First round. George get the win via KO.

Scott Noble (Baltimore, MD) and Samullah Amady (Lorton, VA) gave the AMTL fans an interesting match for all of five rounds at 170 lbs. Both fighters had their moments during the bout. Amady found his range with some reverse elbows and kicks. Noble caught a few of Amady's kicks, landing some well timed combination of punches and kicks on Amady during the bout. In the end, judges rewarded both Amady and Noble with the bout ending up a Draw with the scores of 146 total for each fighter.

At 155 lbs, there was little time wasted with AMTL Veteran, Jovan Davis (Arlington, VA) and Shogun Fights veteran, Alvin Mercer (Fairfax, VA) getting ready to go at it. Mercer may have waited too long to get off some shots as Davis used his range to find Mercer with a solid punch-kick-knee combo knocking Mercer out in the 1st round.
