Alex Trinidad injured, out of fight with Hardeep Rai on Brave 9
Lightweight Alex Trinidad has suffered an injury and won't be able to make his promotional debut at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions, on November 17th, in Bahrain. He was set to fight Hardeep Rai in a Catchweight bout of 150 lbs., but Brave officials have announced "Ice Cream Man" is off the biggest-ever fight card in Middle Eastern MMA history.
In a statement through his social media profiles, Trinidad has revealed he was on the best shape of his life coming into his Brave debut and apologized to Rai for pulling out of their fight due to an injury.
"I'm heartbroken to have to say I won't be getting on a plane today to fight on Brave 9 next week. I suffered an injury yesterday that is preventing me from walking, let alone fighting. The camp was perfect, my body was perfect, the weight was perfect, but there were different plans for me. I would like to thank Brave for the opportunity and hope to be on a future card, apologize to Hardeep Rai for having to pull out one week after we both had a hard 12-week camp and all my supporters and sponsors. I will not let this obstacle get in my way of the ultimate goal and I will be back!", claimed Trinidad.
Brave Combat Federation has also announced they are looking for a replacement fighter to face Hardeep Rai and an announcement on this matter will be made in due time.
Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions marks the promotion’s return to Bahrain after a year. During 2017, the organization has put on groundbreaking events in countries such as Brazil (twice), Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Kazakhstan. Brave 9 will be the culmination of the International Combat Week, alongside the IMMAF World Championships, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
